Room 314, Tuesday Afternoon

Belle had returned from her classes (which had involved many more cats than she was used to) to find a single adorable tuxedo cat glaring at her from her bed.

"Oh, you knew I had to go to classes and you've had plenty of food today. There's no need for that look," she told him as she sat down and stroked his head.

Unless that look was because she smelled like many other cats. She did. She'd been petting rather a lot of them today.

"And I know you can get out of the room whenever you like so you were hardly trapped."

"Well then something I can wear," Five went with because it was easier to ignore the shirt thing.

"I'm not certain anything of mine will fit you..."

She had to glance over when she said that. For confirmation.

"You could borrow a blanket?"

The one they were both sitting on. Awkward.

"...I'll return it," he said with a sniff that said his pride was suffering from this entire interaction.

"I should hope so. Otherwise I might get chilled."

Especially without a purring little space heater in the bed with her.

Hey! Don't remind him of his soft, squishy underbelly there!

Five huffed out an annoyed sigh and looked down at the blanket. And then at her. If this was anyone else, he'd be yanking the blanket out from under them.

It was such a soft little underbelly when he was a cat, too. So plush.

"Oh, very well," Belle said standing up.

She probably ought not to have a naked young (old) man in her room any longer than necessary.

Five snatched up the blanket and teleported a little away with it, wrapping the fabric around himself like a toga. This was possibly learned from Klaus. "Thank you."

"You're welcome," Belle told him. "Though I'm not certain why you didn't just flit into your own room for clothes."

She was also not sure why she hadn't offered him a dress or skirt just to see his reaction.

"I was being polite!" For once in his life. Don't make him regret this.

"Of course."

If that was what he wanted to call it, fine.

"Thank you for your efforts. Are you quite well after your feline ordeal?"

Five huffed loudly at that before teleporting out of the room like he clearly should have done from the beginning. But was polite.

You heard that. It was politeness. And nothing more!

Belle sighed dramatically. "I suppose that means he's fine."
